Powerful, versatile and robust

The Zetasizer Pro is a particle analyzer that uses dynamic light scattering (DLS) and electrophoretic light scattering (ELS) to determine size and zeta potential of materials in the nanometer range. It is the first choice for the majority of all tasks and samples when it comes to characterize particle size and particle charge in colloidal systems.

Thanks to non-invasive backscattering optics (NIBS), the Zetasizer Pro reliably measures the hydrodynamic diameter with high sensitivity over a wide dynamic concentration range. Measurements of particle size and size distribution, molecular size, electrophoretic mobility, zeta potential and molecular weight can be easily carried out with the Zetasizer Pro.

The ZS Xplorer software is characterized by its ease of use, analysis speed and data reliability. Adaptive correlation improves sample throughput by shortening measurement time and providing more information about the sample. The data quality system based on deep learning supports the user in evaluating the results. Optical filters can be switched on if required and enable so the measurement of fluorescent samples.

The main features of the Zetasizer Pro include:

  • Dynamic light scattering (DLS) – also known as photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) or quasi-elastic light scattering (QELS) – to measure molecular and particle size distribution from less than 1 nm to 10 µm
  • Electrophoretic light scattering (ELS) measures the zeta potential or electrophoretic mobility, indicating colloidal stability of the sample and/or propensity to aggregate
  • This dispersion stability is a crucial factor in protein characterization and nanoparticle characterization and is essential for pharmaceutical formulation
  • Non-Invasive Back Scatter (NIBS) optics, for versatile, high sensitivity, particle and molecular size measurements
  • Static Light Scattering (SLS) can be used to estimate molecular weight of the sample
  • M3-PALS (mixed-mode measurement – phase analysis light scattering) with constant current mode for measurements of zeta potential and electrophoretic mobility
  • ZS Xplorer software suite for simple and flexible method creation and data analysis
  • Adaptive correlation for faster, more reproducible size measurements with less sample preparation
  • Artificial Intelligence supports the user in assessing the data quality of size and zeta potential measurements and makes suggestions for improving the results
  • Optical filter wheel with fluorescence filter for measuring fluorescence samples without affecting the sensitivity of the overall system. Also includes polarization filters for dielectrophoretic DLS (DDLS) measurements
  • Available in Blue Label and Red Label versions:
    • Blue Label is used for routine sample testing such as metal colloids, metal oxides, slurries, polymers and pigments
    • Red Label is for more demanding sample types, especially organic materials such as proteins, DNA/RNA, viruses, VLPs, exosomes, extracellular vesicles, nanoemulsions, LNPs, but also for surfactant solutions and samples with low solids content
  • Can be upgraded on-site to Zetasizer Ultra if your requirements change
  • With the optional MPT-3 autotitrator, the effects of pH changes on the stability of the sample system can be studied and the isoelectric point can be determined
  • A range of disposable and reusable cells are available to optimize the measurement in terms of sample volume and concentration
